Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator
I understand that every family is different and I work with each one's unique needs. But I know that one thing that we all have in common is the desire to make decisions about our own lives. I work to educate and empower parties to resolve their issues rather than leave it to the court.
I have been working with families for more than 30 years and have represented hundreds of adults and children. I use that experience to help you down a path to the results you need. Reach out today to see how I can help your family.
Kelly B. St. Clair, Esq. is an attorney licensed in both Virginia and Florida with more than thirty years’ experience in all aspects of juvenile and family law. She is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator, a Guardian ad litem in both states and a qualified Parenting Coordinator for Florida judicial circuits 4, 5, 7, 9, 10 and 18.
Kelly obtained a B.A. in Communication Arts from Salisbury State College (now Salisbury University) and her J.D. from William and Mary Law School and has been focusing on families and children for most of her legal career. She uses this experience both as a sole mediator and a co-mediator. In areas of family law, she has found success using a male/female pair of co-mediators to bring differing perspectives to each mediation. Kelly will mediate cases where both parties are represented by attorneys, only one party is represented or where both parties represent themselves.
Having represented hundreds of parents and children in hearings and trials for parental responsibility (custody) and time sharing (visitation), Kelly believes that the mediation process is a wonderful way for people to take control of their own cases and make the decisions rather than having the court set the rules. It is also usually a far less expensive way to resolve family law issues.
While practicing law in Virginia since 1990, and serving as a substitute judge for eight years, Kelly spent part of her “down time” serving as a producer and board member for a professional theater in Richmond.
She recently relocated to Florida after her younger daughter, son-in-law and baby granddaughter moved to Orlando. Kelly, her older daughter and her parents moved down together to “follow the baby.”
